As a keen but discerning traveller, I like to experience the city as a local, rather than shell out on an impersonal hotel and manage a budget and timing around that. What better way than a home-swap? It’s ideal for visiting a country you might never have thought of because it gives you a secure base to start from, so you can just focus on making your adventure more enjoyable. I’ve managed a serendipitous swap with a friend from London / Sydney before but it’s tough to organise the timing that’s right with people you know (and often you want to actually spend time with them as well!). I work for myself so have more flexibility than most and love the thought of upping sticks and transferring countries to work remotely for a week or two in a cost-effective manner. Hi, My name is Randy Harvey and I love being a part of "Swap My City Pad". They have been great to work with. They really explain how "Home Swapping" works and then help you get started on this wonderful adventure. They have always followed up with any of my questions promptly. I have made 3 "Swaps" before joining with them and I find this to be a wonderful way vacation. Whether it is a week or a month, this allows you freedom to travel and stay in beautiful places without the huge cost. I am still waiting for my first "Swap" with them because I don't have any free time until 2011. But I have some good ideas who I want to swap with and when the time is right, I am "swapping" with "Swap My Pad".
